I'd like to know if there'll be some sort of documentation, like "newscaster" of some sort of the Rising Tied's recording process and whatnot.

Reason 1 being: I'd like to see one. :p I am interested in watching how certain artist(s) do their work and all that.. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who's not familiar at all with the process of making an album. Sure, some of us have seen LP's.. but FM are new - totally different people.

Reason 2: I think a documentation will give insight on the working part of an artist's life. Thus can provide us fans with 'ammunition' - if you will - if one day someone should opined negatively on an artist.

If I'm not mistaken, ('scuse the comparison, but hey - it's Shinoda.. :p) LP released some documentations featuring the artists on reanimation a little while before it actually came out.. And they released the whole LPTV thing without even revealing a single track..

I don't get why people are mis-reading my posts o_O.

I never said I want everything about FM released months in advance or even regular information leakage. All I said was we haven't had too much information of late. I don't expect a song a week previewing, or samples of each track to be online. It'd just be nice to have a teaser or two every so often.

And like Outlaw said, it's possible to show the behind the scenes stuff without giving anything away. So in say...1.5-2 months, it'd be nice to start seeing behind-the-scenes footage, with little hints or even short loops and such beforehand.

Just remember that when the album is released the boards will be busier than ever. :p I know you know this but every message board goes through it's low traffic points, especially a new one and especially when it's linked to a site that's not yet updated and there's very little information yet.

I"m not saying that we're going to go the next months with NO information, but we should just be patient and savor what we get.

Plus I'm sure they're planning on releasing atleast one track from the album before the street team is set up so we know what we're advertising, and that'll definitely be before the album is released. :)

We still need to give the board a chance to settle in, Mike a chance to work on the album as it's not yet finished and to set a firmer date on when it'll be released before we can worry about getting more info released. :)

The making of is just as if not more interesting than the finished product. I LOVED LPTV and the Making of Meteora because of this.

I would like to see a DVD of making Fort Minor - The Rising Tied. Don't you think it would be really interesting to see Mike working with all these artists and how this album comes together. I haven't seen anyone else suggest this yet, I'm very supprised. Or maybe I am just blind. What do you think about this idea?

It would be kinda cool if the Mike posted a short video clip on how he recorded the instrumental parts of the songs and than pieced them together using his computer (can't think of the tools he uses). Kinda like a mini tutorial by Mike...

Or even by the other artists.

If I understood you correctly, you wanted to see a glimpse of the artists' lives depicting how talented, hard-working, down-to-earth, etc. they really are. This footage would be "ammunition" for haters - but imo, this shouldn't be a reason for doing something creative.
Artists shouldn't have to explain themselves to non-fans. I guess you can defend your art and your choices if you feel the need, but you shouldn't have to create something just to silence the critics.

Y'see, the way I see it - not many 'haters' would even bother to watch documentation. I've served arguments well over the years with materials I got from LPTV, newscasters and the DVDs. At one time, I even smacked a magazine editor's right upside the head when he said Mike's a fan of Hootie & the Blowfish (LPTV.. episode 5, if I'm not mistaken?). He'd seen it once and took what mike said literally. After re-showing it to him, he literally groaned and said: "omg.. I made a fool of myself.." (no kidding, sherlock.:p)

And it's not necessarily for the sake of them - the artists' - to defend themselves. It's more for the fans to find aspects in the artists' lives that they can relate with. Thus finding 'ammo' for us the fans to argue out haters. Not to mention for some, it gives an assurance of the artists' credibility and creativity. Aside of giving insights to us who'd never been involved in a creative process of making an album. I know tons of kids who wants to 'be' an artist. Once they see the work involved in 'becoming' an artist, some may be more definitive on how they want to pursue, some may get a reality kick and keep their day job - so to speak.

he does approve because the internet is a great way for fledgling artists to get their music out but it becomes a problem when artists work really hard to put out their albums and arent getting their just rewards because ppl are just downloading their entire albums. but if you have true fans then they'll buy your album anyway, i think thats why mike has no problem with it because LPs fans still buy their albums.
