the name "fort minor" can be looked at in a number of ways in regards to who is actually under it. my perception of it is that it is the name of a project and represents everyone involved. that idea is contradicted by the fact that, like, some people say "remember the name" is a song by "fort minor feat. styles of beyond", but the way i see it, styles of beyond are part of fort minor and are also represented by the name.

if anything, "fort minor" should just be mike shinoda's stage name, but it represents anyone part of the music, especially since the live band goes under the same name, and that's, like, 11 people. so, all in all, the name represents mike shinoda's side-project and everyone else involved.

and as overstated as it is, the name itself also represents the type of music that is made under it; "fort" represents this whole militant feel that the music has and "minor" repesents the softer, "sadder" side to it.
